Moody Jar Recipe!

I promised to have this recipe posted so long ago! I finally found the time to type it out. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Supplies:

  • Plastic Bottle

    • I use these

    • Voss water bottles are also a favorite

    • You can use glass but be mindful that when emotions run high, things get thrown…

  • Clear School Glue

  • Extra Fine Glitter (regular or fine glitter falls too quickly)

  • 1 cup of water + more to fill the bottle

  • Gorilla Glue or Super Glue

*Please note that amounts vary based on the size of your jar or bottle. This recipe is based on a 16oz bottle.

Recipe:

  1. Heat 1 cup of water in the microwave on HIGH for 1 minute. All microwaves are different, so please be careful. You want the water to be warm, but not too hot. I test the water by dipping my finger into it. It should be warm, but not burn. If the water is too hot, it will warp the bottle. This might take some trial and error…

  2. While the water heats. Add the glue to the jar. I use about 1/4 cup. The more glue, the slower the glitter will swirl, but it will require warmer water to melt.

  3. Pour the water into the bottle with the glue. Immediately put the lid on securely. Slowly mix the glue and water by turning the bottle upside down and back. You can shake it, but be careful and wait for bubbles to clear before moving on to step 4.

  4. Once glue appears melted and bubbles are gone, add the glitter. I usually use 2 of the small containers linked above. Put on the cap. Shake to mix.

  5. Slowly top off with water (any temperature).

  6. Apply glue around the inside of the cap.

  7. Secure the lid and you’re done!
