Take a Break Tools: Moody Jars

IMG_4161.jpg

Oh, moody jars, you might be my favorite! I had a lot of fun making these and they look so pretty all lined up 🤗🌈. They consist of clear glue, warm water, and glitter - so simple, but their purpose is big. This is a great tool for your “take a break“ space or tote.

When feelings are running high, have your kiddo shake it up vigorously (use those big muscles and expel some of that tension - how fast can you make the glitter swirl??) and then, watch and relax as the glitter dances and settles to the bottom. Repeat as needed. This tool is great for all ages - Max (15 months) is mesmerized and I even caught my husband shaking it up the other day 😆. Let me know if you are interested in the recipe for these beauties (or if you’d rather have me make you one 😉).

The inspiration for moody jars came from Moody Cow Meditates by Kerry Lee MacLean. It’s a really great book! I think it is good for kids about 6 years old and up. You can paraphrase for younger kiddos. Click the link to find it on Amazon.
